Tales of the Trails – Bayfield Area Trails
Join Kate Kitchell, Bayfield Area Trails (BAT) Committee Chair and Ted May, member of the Trails Subcommittee, to hear tales of the trails and opportunities to get involved. For the last four years, Bayfield Area Trails has engaged Committee partners and community volunteers to work on creating a high-quality network of diverse trails across the Bayfield Peninsula.
Kate will share the story of how Bayfield Area Trails was conceived, highlights of accomplishments, and launching the long-term Bayfield Peninsula Trails Plan in pursuit of a Peninsula-wide trail network and a sustainable organization to support it.
Ted will share what drew him to become involved with trails (from Bayfield to Costa Rica and elsewhere), the Adopt a Trail program with BAT, upcoming work on the Pileated Woodpecker Trail, and ideas for expanded interpretive hikes on our various trails.
We hope that discussion over coffee will help to build momentum towards achieving the Bayfield Area Trails vision of enhancing individual and community wellbeing by connecting people with nature and each other.
Date/Time: Saturday, July 20th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Location: The Brickyard Creek Picnic Pavilion, adjacent to Roy’s Point Marina.
Delta Diner coffee will be served, and extra special this year, Nancy Ericson (from Ericson’s Family Farm) is making the scones, muffins, and her famous apple donuts! Everyone is welcome, so please feel free to bring your guests.
**Attendees will receive a “Boreal Forest Citizen” mug or a Brickyard Creek trivet generously made by community member Don Verdegan.
