EVENT CANCELED** Cultivating a Sense of Place

August 20, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Cultivating a Sense of Place

With Jeff Rennicke, Executive Director of Friends of the Apostle Islands

EVENT CANCELED: Jeff Rennicke, our guest for this weekend’s Coffee at the Creek, sadly “blew out” his knee, which requires surgery ASAP. At another time, I expect Jeff would have hobbled to our gathering, but the doctor gave him strict orders to stay away from groups. A positive test would mean waiting another month for surgery. So, this Saturday’s morning get-together is canceled. Jeff shared his disappointment and sends his regrets. We will reschedule and have our sense of place conversation for a future date.

In the meantime, our sense of place series continues to remind me to take note of the specialness of the place we live and the vital role we play in keeping it that way.

Being truly “at home” in a place takes time and attention but can reap great rewards. Join us Saturday, August 20th for this participatory discussion about finding a sense of place here in the Brickyard Creek community, the Bayfield area, and the Apostle Islands with Jeff Rennicke. What helps you feel close to a place? What can you give back to your chosen place? How can you help others discover what lies all around them? Join us.

Date/Time: Saturday, August 20th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Location: The Brickyard Creek Picnic Pavilion, adjacent to Roy’s Point Marina.

Refreshments: Wonderstate coffee and bakery will be provided!
