Coffee at the Creek – Wavelength: News from Friends of the Apostle Islands

From one of the strongest aurora displays in decades to five new wave buoys to the return of Island School, things have been busy in the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.

Jeff Rennicke, Executive Director of Friends of the Apostle Islands, will bring us up to date on projects like Access for All and the new Starry Skies Initiative, as well as tell us how to access the Wave Watch buoys for boater safety in the islands.

He’ll share opportunities to get involved with the islands, upcoming events, and may even tell a few stories of his adventures aboard his boat the “Little Dipper.”

Date/Time: Saturday, June 15th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Location: The Brickyard Creek Picnic Pavilion, adjacent to Roy’s Point Marina.

Refreshments:
Delta Diner coffee will be served, and extra special this year, Nancy Ericson (from Ericson’s Family Farm) is making the scones, muffins, and her famous apple donuts! Everyone is welcome, so please feel free to bring your guests.

**Attendees will receive a “Boreal Forest Citizen” mug or a Brickyard Creek trivet generously made by community member Don Verdegan.
