The Pulse of the Stream: Monitoring Water Health
With Alex Faber and Emma Holtan of the Superior Rivers Watershed Association.
The streams and rivers that feed Lake Superior are why we love this region. Brickyard Creek’s water is clear, pristine, and calming. But do we really know its health, what lives in the stream, and what our changing climate might bring? Join the Superior Rivers Watershed Association to collect macroinvertebrate and water quality samples and learn about our ongoing “community science” water quality monitoring program.
Date/Time: Saturday, September 16th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Location: The Brickyard Creek Picnic Pavilion, adjacent to Roy’s Point Marina.
Refreshments:
Delta Diner coffee will be served, and extra special this year, Nancy Ericson (from Ericson’s Family Farm) is making the scones, muffins, and her famous apple donuts! Everyone is welcome, so please feel free to bring your guests.
**Attendees will receive a “Boreal Forest Citizen” mug or a Brickyard Creek trivet generously made by community member Don Verdegan.
