A dispatch from the ‘Creek where suddenly Spring is mounting a solid comeback! Indeed, after shouldering through a raw, somewhat dispiriting stretch of icy rain (that included threats of measurable snow), it now appears we are in the clear. That seemed hard to imagine just a few days ago when the disagreeable conditions forced everything into an obvious lull. Not even a peep out of the peepers. Finally, however, the sun has popped out and like a switch has spurred the familiar harmony of our seasonal sounds. There was screams from our resident red fox deep in the night and a chorus of birds singing this morning. And just now the river-like roar of the creek was muffled by the low rumble of the passing fishing boats heading out for today’s catch. Yes, there is a definite swing in momentum. So despite the fact we’ve seen flakes in early July I can assure you more than a peek of that Bayfield blue sky. It’s definitely time to gather back at Brickyard Creek!

A reminder that the Annual Associations meeting is the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
